' 68 Floor mats

I received my mats and your service was great, but I was surprised about the fit. I expected the mats to fit my floorboards closer and the cut in on the left side of the driver map doesn't make sense to me. Have others made this comment on the fit for their 1968? I appreciate your expertise.
